The search for an original costume at an attractive price begins a few months before the Purim celebrations in Israel, when the international websites launch equal promotions in all areas.

The particularly meticulous and proactive ones start their search as early as November, about 4 months before the holiday in Israel, immediately after the end of the Halloween events, mainly due to the remaining supply of costumes and the clearance sales offered by the various suppliers in order to clear the shelves in preparation for next year's costumes.

Most consumers, who don't tend to wait so long for it to be too late, or fear that the children will grow too much by the time of the holiday, start their search already around January, with a check of supply and prices on international websites, which usually offer attractive prices for costumes even without special offers.

The accessible prices on websites from abroad, which have always been seen as affordable, join this year (Purim 2023) the tense economic reality in Israel - as well as two strengthening trends such as the continuation of Purim events over an entire week and the strengthening of online trade - and it appears that the Israelis who are considering spending even more than ever, have demonstrated consumerism this year Be wise, prepare in advance and order the costumes ahead of time and at an attractive price.

"Calculated consumerism corresponds with the cost of living"

In addition, Israelis usually purchase benefits online within the framework of consumer clubs such as Histadrut, KAL, MAX and more. When approaching Purim, the clubs offer discounted benefits for the purchase of costumes and accessories for Purim at the branches of the Toys R Us chain.

Nati Yacovi CEO of Shop Analytkis

: "Israelis are proving themselves to be thoughtful consumers and are engaged in purchasing costumes online for a long time before the Purim celebrations.

The selection of costumes online on the international websites is huge and the prices are very affordable compared to Israel, which definitely corresponds with the cost of living."

The company Shop Analytics of the Yifat Group, is a technological research company that operates and maintains a panel of 3,200 consumers aged 15 and over who buy digitally.

The consumers are divided equally between women and men , and represent age strata, population groups and geographic distribution according to changing residential areas.

The members of the database allow Shop Analytics access to their email in order to analyze the online orders they place, so that when a confirmation for an order or a purchase invoice is received, the company receives the information at the same time - including the content of the order and the amount of the purchase.

The consumers of the pool are rewarded for this.

In this way, the company monitors Israeli orders online, both from local and international websites.
