The former goalscorer of the XV of England, a unique personality in Ovalie, will accompany the technological group during the competition.

It is a legend of rugby who becomes an ambassador for Capgemini for the next Rugby World Cup, which takes place in France in September October.

And not just any legend: Jonny Wilkinson is the most famous rugby player in the history of England, with his way of kicking unique in the world.

"At Capgemini, our sports partnerships allow us to unite, innovate and transform

," said Virginie Regis, member of the executive committee, in a press release.

This is also Jonny's line of conduct, as an ambassador for rugby as in his other activities.

The former champion will accompany the brand throughout the competition, already awaited throughout the world by millions of aficionados.

Remember that France will open the event with a match against the All Blacks.

Not easy...

Super champion record

Jonny Wilkinson's track record speaks for itself.

Not only has he already won a world championship title with the XV de la Rose, but he has also won two European trophies with Toulon.

Apart from his purely sporting qualities, the man has always distinguished himself by his aura.

"He is committed to a more sustainable practice of sport on and off the field

," adds Virginie Regis.

He was a natural choice for us.

For Capgemini, a world leader in transforming businesses – particularly through technological innovation – the Rugby World Cup is a key event.

The group is quite simply the “digital transformation” partner of World Rugby.

A sponsorship which is also accompanied by a commitment to several major rugby tournaments, starting with the World Cup played this year in France.

In short, Capgemini is on a double front.

These partnerships concern both men and women, since women's rugby is now a booming discipline.

A passionate rugby founder

The technology group did not wait for the organization of the World Cup in France to take an interest in rugby.

Originally, Serge Kampf, the founder of the group and a true enthusiast of the oval ball, multiplied the successful incursions into this sport.

That was more than thirty years ago: Capgemini began by supporting several emblematic clubs, such as Biarritz Olympique, before becoming the official consulting and technology sponsor of the 2007 World Cup (organized for the first time in France).

Serge Kampf is the main architect of the development of Capgemini, which today operates in some fifty countries, including all of the major rugby nations.

Which will win the World Cup in France?

Jonny Wilkinson certainly supports the XV de la Rose, but given the latest results, it is not in a strong position.
