Yet another bank stops asking retirees for proof of life: according to the bank, what is the process like for those who still ask

2023-03-20T17:21:14.868Z

There are more and more entities that stop asking for survival so that the elderly continue to collect their pension assets.

Retirees and pensioners who collect their salaries through a bank, in general, must carry out

a survival or proof of life procedure

.

Prior to the pandemic, this step was completed in person or through a purchase with a debit card in nearby stores.

During the confinement period it was suspended, and in the post-pandemic, on the other hand, this process began to be done virtually.

Now there are more and more entities that add to ask for it more.

This Monday, the clients of the Supervielle bank join the list of retirees or pensioners who will not have to present it anymore.

In this way, customers up to and including 74 years of age are exempt from attesting to their life in order to collect their assets.

"With this initiative, they simplify the operation for almost 450,000 older adults

and is part of a progressive plan to simplify the collection process for more and more beneficiaries," the entity said in a statement.

Last Wednesday, Santander Bank, an entity that also added benefits to the package it already offers for this age group, had joined the hosts of banks that stopped asking for proof of life.

"All those people who collect their pension assets in the entity will access the benefits of the Senior Account,"

the entity said last week through a statement.

And he added: "Fully discounted accounts and packages, savings in pharmacies, supermarkets, auto insurance, preferential rates for personal loans and a telephone line with priority attention, among others."

For new customers who start

collecting their retirement with Santander, they will receive a welcome $5,000

in their new account for one time.

For new clients who begin to collect their retirement with Santander, they will receive a one-time welcome of $5,000

The banks that carry out the process automatically are: Nación, Province of Buenos Aires, Córdoba, La Pampa, San Juan, Santa Cruz, Santa Fe, Entre Ríos and Piano.

And now Santander has just joined.

For the rest of the entities, the digital forms most used to process the certificate of life are:

  • make purchases with the debit card associated with the bank account where the credit is collected

  • put the fingerprint on the totems or ATMs located in the banks

  • go to an Anses biometric self-consultation terminal or use the mobile applications of banking entities.
