More than a million retirees will receive a bonus in April and May due to the increase in the Minimum Wage

2023-03-22T11:16:54.975Z

The increase will be $7,215 in April and $11,455 in May. These amounts are added to the $15,000 bonus that they will receive in those months.

Due to the increase in the Minimum, Vital and Mobile Wage (SMVM), 1,200,000 retirees and pensioners who receive the minimum salary ($58,665) and retired with 30 or more years of effective contributions, without resorting to the moratorium, will have an increase

of $7,215 in April and $11,455 in May.

These amounts are added to the $15,000 bonus that they will receive in those months.

These additions are because Article No. 5 of Law 27,426, approved in December 2017, specifies that retirees and pensioners

"with 30 years or more of service with effective contributions"

will charge "a monetary supplement until they reach a pension

equivalent to eighty-two percent (82%) of the value of the Minimum Vital and Mobile Salary”.

In April, the SMVM rises to $80,342.

82% ($65,880) is more than the minimum retirement ($58,665)

by $7,215.

In May, the SMVM amounts to $85,512 and 82% is $70,120, that is, $11,455 more than the 58,665 minimum retirement.

Then in June the payment of these differences will depend on pension mobility, because that month an increase in assets corresponds to all retirees and pensioners.

And the minimum retirement would have an increase and that difference

or plus could disappear or not.

In June, the SMVM rises to $87,987.

82% represents $72,149.

Since this transitory bonus was approved, it was paid in the months of January-May and from July to November 2018;

in August and in October-November 2019, in October and November 2021, in August, in October, November and December 2022 and in January and February 2023.

Retirees and pensioners

with higher salaries do not receive this supplement and neither does the bonus of up to $15,000

that includes those who earn up to 2 minimum salaries.

It is the sector of retirees and pensioners that had the greatest decline in the face of inflation because, like the rest,

it had a loss of 19.5% during the Government of Mauricio Macri.

Then in 2020 he received increases below the minimum, and in 2021, in 2022 and so far in 2023 he did not receive any of the bonuses that were granted to retirees and pensions with lower salaries.

The increase in the minimum wage also impacts the programs "Potenciar Trabajo"

(a little more than one million people) that earn half the minimum wage and

"Acompañar"

(35,000 people), especially women and people from the LBGTI+ collective in situations of violence. of gender, who receive a minimum wage for 6 consecutive months.

It also affects the ceiling of 90% of the RIPTE

(formal wages) to set the increase in the contributions of affiliates to prepaid with net income less than 6 SMVM.

And in registered monthly or daily workers who earn less than the monthly or hourly minimum wage.

And indirectly as a reference to unregistered or informal workers.
