Power outages in the AMBA: raid four Edesur offices to withdraw documentation

2023-03-23T15:17:16.371Z

It was ordered by federal judge Nicolás Kreplak, there are three headquarters in the south of the GBA and another in San Telmo. It is due to a complaint filed in February by the Provincial Ombudsman's Office.

The Federal Justice ordered the

search of four Edesur offices

, three in the south of the GBA and one in CABA, as part of an investigation into cuts and interruptions in the service registered this summer.

According to the request, to which

Clarín

had access , the federal judge of La Plata, Nicolás Kreplak (who subrogates, that is, temporarily replaces a court in Lomas de Zamora) intends to

withdraw documentation

from the headquarters of the distribution company to establish the reasons of more than 477 cuts that affected thousands of Buenos Aires consumers.

The complaint was filed in mid-February by the Ombudsman of the Province, Guido Lorenzino.

A week ago, from that presentation, Cecilia Incardona, in charge of the Federal Prosecutor's Office No. 2, had requested a series of test measures.

It considered that Edesur's action "constitutes the

crime of hindering

electricity supply services, provided for and punished by article 194 of the Penal Code, notwithstanding that a more serious crime could be configured, for which reason it is appropriate to instruct summary for your investigation."

Now Kreplak granted the request and as of this Thursday, Federal Police personnel withdraw documentation from an Ezeiza commercial headquarters;

another office in Monte Grande, part of Esteban Echeverría;

another from Lomas de Zamora and an office located in the San Telmo area, in CABA.

"It is a warrant with search subsidy," they explained the technicality of the procedure in the office of the judge from La Plata.

He means that the police have the power to ask for the documentation.

And if they don't want to give it to them,

they are authorized to take it by force

.

The service provider is under strong pressure from the national authorities, since in the midst of the severe heat wave that affected the metropolitan region, there were up to 110,000 users without electricity in the GBA and the autonomous city.

This week, the Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, authorized an "intervention" in the company managed by Italian capital.

He appointed the mayor of Avellaneda, and former Minister of Habitat, Jorge Ferraresi as controller.

Almost in parallel, that of the National Electricity Regulatory Entity (ENRE), demanded that Justice prevent the departure of nine executives from the country that make up the leadership of the Edesur company.

The presentation was made by the person in charge of the agency, Walter Martello, in the case being processed in Comodoro Py, in the court in charge of Julián Ercolini.

It is another legal process against the company.

In this case, because the Government considers that Edesur "

has intentionally lost its operational capacity"

and for this reason, it accuses its top managers of "willfully frustrating" the electrical service, affected during the last heat wave that occurred in March and that would leave thousands of users in the dark.
