Cooperation in air freight between Air France-KLM and the shipowner-logistician CMA CGM, initiated by the entry of the Marseille company into the capital of the Franco-Dutch group last year, entered into force, have announced the two groups on Monday.
As part of this partnership, which will initially last ten years, the two entities are “pooling
their complementary cargo networks, the capacities of their all-cargo aircraft and their dedicated services
”, they explain in a press release.
CMA CGM will be able to rely on the expertise of Air France-KLM in the field of air freight, particularly in the transport of specialized goods (pharmaceutical products, perishable foodstuffs, etc.) and its facilities at Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam-Schiphol.

In addition to the 6 Air France-KLM Boeing 747 and 777 freighters, it will be able to benefit from the hold capacity of the 160 long-haul aircraft of the two companies dedicated to passenger transport.

CMA CGM entered the capital of the cash-strapped airline group in May 2022, acquiring 9%.
The Marseille group, which created an air freight branch two years ago, currently operates two Boeing 777s and four A330 freighters and has placed an order for four A350Fs, the brand new freight version of the European manufacturer's long-haul, expected in 2025. Air France-KLM has eight A350Fs in its order book.
