The Stellantis site in Sochaux (Doubs) will stop its activity on Wednesday until April 14 because of a supply problem, we learned on Tuesday from the manufacturer and the CGT.

We have announced that the Sochaux site will not be working from Wednesday afternoon 5 to Friday April 14, due to a supplier problem,
" a spokesperson for Stellantis told AFP, confirming information from France Blue.

This decision is linked to the semiconductor crisis that the global automotive industry has been experiencing since 2020
," he added.

Sequential improvements have been recorded for a few months, but the situation should only return to normal at the end of the year, which still forces us to manage very precisely site by site.

He worried about a loss of earnings for employees, explaining that they will be compensated according to an internal system called modulation, then "from
Wednesday 12, we will be paid on partial unemployment and we will lose 16% of the net salary per day of unemployment

”, in reference to Carlos Tavares, the boss of Stellantis, a group resulting from the merger in 2021 of Peugeot-Citroën and Fiat-Chrysler.
He also worried about the impact for the temporary workers employed on the site which produces Peugeot 3008 and 5008.
