Stormy Daniels and Donald Trump would have had a sexual relationship in the mid-2000s, when the politician was already married to Melania Trump, and just the father of their son Barron.
An adultery that he would have tried to hide at all costs, by paying money to the ex-porn actress.
However, the sum would not have been declared in the Republican candidate's campaign accounts, which violates American electoral laws.
If the former leader was notified of 34 charges, on Tuesday April 4, he pleaded not guilty to each of them, before coming out of court free.
His trial is scheduled to begin in January 2024.

“A lot of people knew”
For his part, Stormy Daniels lost a legal battle against the ex-president.
She was ordered to reimburse him 120,000 dollars (110,000 euros) in legal fees on Tuesday April 4, after losing his defamation lawsuit against the Republican.
"All I know is that I received a check, and everything changed," she explained in the interview with
Vogue
, published the same day.

The former pornstar says the politician "was smart".
"Not as much as Einstein, but... he spoke complete sentences," she says.
But then the evening takes a turn she hadn't imagined.
"Sometimes I see him on TV and I'm like, 'What happened? Who is that guy?'" she wonders today.

90 seconds of amnesia
That evening, the former president, according to Stormy Daniels, abused her.
The young woman would have blacked out for 90 seconds.
"At one point, after talking to him for a few hours, I got up to go to the bathroom," she recalls.
And then I walked out and... it's like those 90 seconds didn't exist.
