The oil company YPF increased the price of its gasoline by 4%. The rise runs from 8, this Wednesday, May 17. Puma was the first to adjust its values.
The oil companies had already agreed with the Government a monthly increase of 4% in the price of fuel. That was to happen on the 15th of every month, between April and August. Energy Secretary Flavia Royon convened a meeting Tuesday to address this issue. A freeze was supposed to come, but finally the adjustment came.
In this way, the increase planned for Monday was finally formalized today. and Puma kicked off with a rise in fuel prices from midnight.
Because of its market share, YPF was the only one that could stop the increase. However, shortly before 8 o'clock, confirmation came from the oil company that the value of its fuels would also rise.
During this year, two rounds of "fair prices" for fuels were agreed. The first was between December 2022 and March 2023. A monthly correction of 4% and a last one of 3.2%. The second wave of increases, from April to August, implies a monthly remarking of 4%.
The cumulative fuel increases for the period January-August 2023 is between 36% and 37%, if the forecasts of the two price agreements announced so far are met.

The new fuel prices at YPF service stations in the City of Buenos Aires are:
Super Naphtha: $184.70
Premium Naphtha: $232.70
Common Diesel: $198.40
- Premium diesel: $278.70.
So far this year, fuels increased 18% against inflation of 32% and a devaluation of 25%," they said from the sector.
