After 8 years: Rafael's CEO announced his desire to retire - voila! money

Rafael's CEO, Maj. Gen. (res.) Yoav Har-Even, informed the Chairman of the Company's Board of Directors that he wishes to step down from his position in the coming months, after 8 years in the position.

Har-Even, 57, began serving as Rafael's CEO in 2016 after completing his IDF service in various positions, most recently as head of the operations division.

During his tenure as CEO, Rafael has achieved extraordinary achievements that contribute significantly to the security of the State of Israel. Among the achievements are the development and implementation of the "David's Sling" system, the development of the "Light Shield" laser defense system and proof of its capabilities in the experimental field, and many other systems that constitute breakthroughs in their field.

During these years, Rafael has consolidated its position as a successful business and global company by increasing sales to various countries around the world, acquiring international and Israeli companies, and strengthening its economic resilience.
During Har-Even's tenure, the Rafael Group showed growth of about 50%, the order backlog doubled and reached NIS 2023 billion in the first quarter of 40.

2022 ended as an all-time record year with sales totaling NIS 11.6 billion and orders totaling NIS 16.1 billion. At the same time, Rafael has invested NIS 6.5 billion in its own R&D in recent years, and these investments are bearing fruit in ongoing support for the activities of the IDF and the defense establishment in the development and production of the most advanced weapons and defense systems.

"Much that is hidden on the visible"

Yoav Har-Even thanked the Chairman of the Board Itzik Gat, Dr. Uzi Landau and Dr. Yuval Steinitz for their great trust and support, Rafael's board members, management members and employees, and said, "Rafael has unique and outstanding human capital in the Israeli and global landscape. Rafael's employees, whose work is largely hidden from view, is a symbol of excellence and instills in them a sense of mission and commitment to act for Israel's security."


Chairman of the Board Dr. Yuval Steinitz thanked Har-Even and said that Rafael has become a leading and prosperous company in recent years, synonymous with technological innovation and a place where you create the impossible and germinate defense solutions for the various threats to the State of Israel.

Steinitz added that during Har-Even's tenure as CEO, Rafael achieved very significant technological and business achievements, with an emphasis on retaining, recruiting and absorbing professional and quality human capital.

Har Even will continue in his role until a new CEO is appointed.
