The distributor Carrefour would prepare to eliminate nearly 1,000 positions in its headquarters in France, said a source close to the file to AFP, confirming the information revealed in particular by the Letter A or LSA. "We do not comment, we favor dialogue with the social partners," the Carrefour group's communication to the news agency replied.
In France, the distributor has headquarters in Massy (Essonne), Évry (Essonne) and Mondeville (Calvados). These job cuts should not be limited to France. Europe-wide, the total is "still being evaluated," according to Letter A.
On the sidelines of the group's General Assembly on Friday, the CFDT union had indicated on Twitter that it expected "a new restructuring that is announced before the end of the year", adding that "the trade unions should soon be invited to negotiate a specific amendment Headquarters for this new departure plan".

The modalities not yet known
Contacted Tuesday and Wednesday by AFP, the trade unions have not yet been officially informed of the modalities of this expected plan of "transformation of headquarters", and preferred to wait for more information before taking an official position.
During the presentation of its strategic plan for 2026 for the distributor, its CEO Alexandre Bompard had announced a new "cost savings" plan of 4 billion euros including "significant workforce reductions in each" of European headquarters.
The CEO of the group had not given any indication of the extent of these reductions, simply indicating that "in Europe, there is a huge potential for pooling to be exploited" and that "everything that needs to be pooled in our organization will be".
