Axa: a new 37-year-old CEO is appointed after Patrick Cohen's promotion to European level

The insurer announced Tuesday a reorganization for the launch of its strategic plan, which will be presented in the first quarter of 2024.


"The year 2023 is pivotal for Axa," says Thomas Buberl, CEO of the group, the largest French insurer and second European. And for good reason: 2023 marks the end of the Driving Progress plan, suggesting by 2024, the new strategic cycle for the next three years. For this reason and due to several retirements, the group is reshaping its management committee.

The CEO of Axa France, Patrick Cohen, is promoted to the European level as of July 1. "It has obtained record results, increased customer satisfaction," says Axa, with Le Figaro. He will also assume the international management of the newly created Health business unit to simultaneously supervise health insurance at the local level and collective protection contracts at the international level.
