Harvard's giant donor is withholding donations due to the university's current loss of way.

Ken Griffin, a billionaire who founded the Citadel hedge fund and one of the richest people in the world, joins a growing list of those who have decided to close their wallets at this point and include Len Blavatnik, Idan Ofer and of course Bill Ackman.

Griffin is one of Harvard's largest donors with a fortune estimated by Bloomberg at $37 billion.

Griffin has cumulative donations of approximately $500 million to the institution.

Just last April he gave the Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences a donation of 300 million dollars, and in 2014 he gave the institution a donation of 150 million dollars.

Griffin attended a conference in Miami yesterday and expressed deep frustration with the state of American universities, including the testimony of the presidents of three elite universities in a hearing before the US Congress.

He said "Will America's elite universities return to their roots - educating our children to be the future leaders of our country, or will they continue to get lost in the desert of microaggressions and preoccupation with diversity and inclusion agendas that have no real purpose," he said.

Griffin claimed that students at elite universities are "trapped in the rhetoric of the oppressor and oppressed, just like whining snowflakes."

He repeated his statement that he would not hire students who signed an anti-Israel statement as part of the Harvard organizations last October.

Harvard is in turmoil when earlier this month, Jewish students filed a lawsuit in Massachusetts District Court against Harvard University, alleging that the institution discriminated against Jewish students and exposed them to hate speech.

About a month ago, Claudine Gay, the president of Harvard University in the United States, resigned from her position, this against the background of the harsh criticism of her following the hearing in Congress on anti-Semitism and allegations of literary plagiarism that she carried out in her academic studies.

The pressure on Gay, who served in the position for only six months - the shortest time in the history of the prestigious university - increased after she refused to say explicitly in a hearing in the House of Representatives that calling for the genocide of Jews is a violation of the rules of dissent at the institution.

Days later, she apologized and clarified that these are anti-Semitic chants that deserve condemnation. Harvard's executive committee decided to keep her in her position, but since then some evidence has been published that she did not cite properly in her doctoral thesis and copied from other sources.
