Javier Milei's government received a first disbursement from the International Monetary Fund this Wednesday, after the organization gave the green light to the agreement announced at the beginning of the month.
The Executive used a part of that amount to pay this week's maturities.
The amount released would be around $4.7 billion.
The agreement was the first to be signed in the Milei government, an announcement that was made on January 10.
On that occasion, the Minister of Economy clarified that it was not new money, but rather the recovery of an agreement that fell during the government of Alberto Fernández.
The deal was reached after negotiating the seventh technical review of that March 2022 commitment.
"This disbursement is not new money, it is the money to pay the capital maturities that occurred in December, which to do so we had to ask the Andean Development Corporation for money, the maturity in January and the one that will come in April," he had anticipated Caputo.
