In this sense, and in a context of declining housing loan production, Governor François Villeroy de Galhau had given banks until the beginning of February to agree on a common system offering the possibility of a re-examination of ungranted real estate loans.

As we reveal, the French Banking Federation will formalize this Thursday, February 1, the outlines of this procedure and the eligibility criteria for this “review of ungranted real estate loans”.

Concretely, to be entitled to the second chance examination, the customer affected by a loan refusal must have presented a compliant and complete file so that the bank can examine the file.
It must, moreover, not be registered in the payment incident files managed by the Banque de France (FICP, FCC).
The financing request can concern the main residence but also a secondary residence and even a rental investment.
