Netflix's radical solution inspires its competitors.

The video streaming platform Disney + is now implementing restrictive password sharing measures in the United States.

Disney+ has started sending emails to its US members to announce its new terms and conditions, which include specific restrictions on sharing passwords between households, reports CNN.

A process that the streaming giant has already been using in Canada since last year.

The Hulu platform, which is not available in France, will also implement this method.

The pioneer of on-demand streaming announced at the end of 2023 that it had gained 10% of subscribers worldwide, or 8.76 million additional people, and was on the verge of generalizing the end of shared accounts to all markets.

At the same time, its Essential” and “Premium” monthly subscriptions have increased by two euros, particularly in France.

The first going from 8.99 euros per month to 10.99 euros and the second from 17.99 to 19.99 euros.

In France, Netflix announced in May the end of free access for profiles outside the subscriber's home.

But the technical measures have not applied to all subscribers, and some users fall through the cracks.
