Bank Leumi has informed Linon Levy, one of the four Israelis on whom American sanctions have been imposed, that his two bank accounts are frozen due to the sanctions.

According to the order issued against him, the Americans accuse Levy, who led a group of residents from the "Havat Mitar" outpost, who attacked, threatened and burned property of Palestinians and Bedouins in various cases.

The accounts of Shalom Zicherman and Einan Tanjil, two more of the four, at Bank Hapoalim, will also be blocked, most likely in the near future, because no banking entity in Israel is interested in getting into trouble with the American authorities, even at the cost of opening a front with elements on the right.

Bank Hapoalim responded: "Bank Hapoalim respects the international sanctions and will comply with any legal order.

For reasons of banking confidentiality, we will not be able to refer to specific cases." Bank Leumi has not yet provided a response.
