The ministers of finance and labor reached agreements with the head of the Histadrut and the chairman of the presidency of the business sector regarding additional benefits for the reservists in the war.



As part of the agreement, led by the Histadrut and the presidency of the business sector, it was decided that the daughters or spouses of reservists whose children are up to the age of 14 will receive up to 8 days of absence paid by the workplace. Those who served in the reserves for more than 60 days will receive two months of protection in which they will not be able to be fired except with special permission (compared to one month today). It



was also agreed that workers, who were not allowed to use their full vacation days in 2023 due to the war, will be able to carry over the unused vacation days they have accumulated to 2024.



A precedent decision concerns the indemnification of employers for the payment for the social contributions of the employees who are in the reserves, which was a burden for companies with many young employees who are in the reserves. It was decided that the state will compensate the employers with 20% of the amount The employee's salary, and for this purpose an amount of NIS 2.45 billion will be allocated in the 2024 budget.



The agreement will apply to the period from October 7th until the end of 2024. It will be submitted to the chief supervisor of labor relations, attorney Rebecca Verbner, for its registration as a general collective agreement, and its validity is subject to its expansion by an expansion order.

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said that "the agreement signed today is important for the Israeli economy, for our heroic reserve servicemen and women and their families, and for Israeli society as a whole. Today's agreement, for the first time, grants state compensation to employers and anchors the social conditions required now, thus extending an additional safety net for reserve servicemen and their families ".



Labor Minister Yoav Ben Tzur: "We formulated the collective agreement to extend the protection period for the reserve servants from 30 days to 60 days, based on an agreement and understanding with the Ministry of Finance, the Histadrut and the employers' organizations. I call on the employers from here, respect them, cherish those who stopped the routine Their day, who left their family members behind and who are fighting fiercely so that we can raise our child in peace and tranquility."



Chairman of the Histadrut Arnon Bar-David: "In this agreement, we decided to expand the protection umbrella against layoffs and increase the help for husbands and wives who are faced with managing a household while their loved ones were called to the flag."
