– A wake-up time?

Emmanuelle Rameau.

My alarm goes off at 7 a.m., but my three children having taught me the snooze function, I sometimes overuse it… always within reason!

Should we go back to the origin

 ?

A mother in the health sector, a father in recruitment for the RATP… Nothing destined me for a career in finance, but my parents instilled in me the value of work: moving forward, not complaining, taking action.

After the baccalaureate, I had in mind that understanding the economic system would allow me to better understand the world.

In 1991, at the age of 23, with my DESS in banking and finance in hand, I applied to different banks and landed a position at Paribas, a leading investment bank.

I'm still there.

Course accelerators?

I never thought I would stay more than thirty years in the same group.

I have the soul of an entrepreneur, I go for it.

At the beginning, when I met business leaders, I said to myself: “Why am I not on their side?”, but by accompanying them, I felt like their partner, an entrepreneur like them.

I quickly fell in love with this role and learned from each meeting.

Obstacles on the road?

Being thrown into a man's world wasn't easy at first but I like the challenge.

My childhood friend makes fun of me when I say that I was very lucky.

She answers me that it was me who made my path and my life happy.

And deep down, it's true that I don't see any obstacles, just situations to resolve.

A decisive moment

?

There was more than one... The merger of BNP and Paribas in 2000 led me to join the CIB (Corporate & Institutional Banking) division, where I discovered the international dimension of the activity.

A move to the provinces allowed me to discover “retail”, inventing a new model of diversity between private and corporate banking, and to develop my skills and my ability to bring teams together.

Then, in 2014, I was called back to Paris to create a specific system to support business leaders.

All my life, I have never stopped adapting and drawing positive things from each change.

The pitch of your position?

Coordinate synergies between BNP Paribas group entities and the private bank to better serve entrepreneurs.

My daily life is to listen, organize, create connections, provide the right advice at the right time.

I am also here to change the image of private banking, which is more modern, at the heart of the real economy, and which supports all customer segments, from the young startupper to the major philanthropic leader.

Some numbers ?

We are the leading private bank in France in terms of assets entrusted, 127 billion euros.

Who trusted you?

Everyone except me!

It was the kindness and trust of others that allowed me to move forward.

AI will have a great importance in our lives, but I remain convinced that humans will always be the key.

Trusting yourself and others means continuing to believe that we all have great value.

I have the soul of an entrepreneur, I go for it

Your next challenge?

Make BNP Paribas the private bank of choice for entrepreneurs and continue to develop SRI, socially responsible investment.

What would you like to convey?

Confidence, optimism and collective spirit – the pleasure of building together.
