As announced, the Government decided to increase electricity starting in February and leave the increase in gas until later.
The increase will be for level N1, the one with the highest income or the one that dropped out of the subsidy.
The rest of the users, at the medium and low levels, will not see changes in their tickets.
Through resolution 7/2024, the Ministry of Energy established an
increase in the seasonal price of energy
(PEST)
between February and April
.
That increase is around 110% and would have an impact of 50% on bills.
But, at the same time, the rule also established 5-fold increases for power, which is 100% transferred to the bills that will be received in two months.
In reality, to know for sure what the final increase in bills will be, the ENRE needs to take these values and apply them to the final bill.
The ENRE also has to incorporate to the increases that were published today the
Distribution Value Added (VAD)
, which corresponds to the income of distributors such as Edenor and Edesur.
Between both increases, it is estimated that
they will have an impact of 350% on the bills of N1 consumers.
According to the resolution, while in February 2019 the seasonal price covered 79% of the monomic price of the Wholesale Electricity Market, in November 2023 that value dropped to 57%.
