The French oil giant, TotalEnergies, announced on Wednesday a new result of 19.8 billion euros for the year 2023. Or, on paper, an increase of 4% compared to 2022. The fourth oil group in the world is is doing even better than its competitors Shell, BP or ExxonMobil.

A balance sheet to nevertheless be put into perspective: in 2022, the company's adjusted net profit (which excludes exceptional items) had reached 36 billion euros.
Against 21.5 billion euros this year, a drop of 36%.
