The leading producer of medicines in Europe twenty years ago, France is now relegated to sixth position.

The sector's trade balance is affected: for the first time in 2023, its balance is barely positive, at 300 million euros, while it amounted to 3 billion euros in 2022. Why such collapse?

France has never stopped producing or exporting medicines, but it is importing more and more of them, and more and more expensive ones.
