At the end of a year 2024 marked by the strongest year of sales growth in 20 years, L'Oréal, the world leader in the sector, won quite a trophy.
The French group has indeed become number one in the most prestigious segment of the market, that of prestige care products, makeup and perfumes, sold in department stores and perfumeries.
It dethrones the historic leader in this segment, the American Estée Lauder (Estée Lauder, Clinique, La Mer, Jo Malone, Frédéric Malle, Tom Ford, etc.).
Sales of L'Oréal Luxe (Lancôme, Yves Saint Laurent, Biotherm, Armani, Kiehl's, Helena Rubinstein, etc.) increased by 4.5% last year, with the bar approaching 15 billion euros (14.92 billion ).
Enough to surpass the Estée Lauder group, in a difficult situation for several quarters, whose sales reached 15.9 billion dollars in its financial year ended at the end of June, or 14.7 billion euros.
