The Government announced the decision to reduce the subsidy for public transport companies throughout the country.
The measure includes the elimination of the Interior Compensation Fund, whose million-dollar sums were received by the provinces.
From now on, as announced, official aid will be channeled through SUBE and will only be for beneficiaries of the social rate, which implies a 55% discount.
"The Ministry of Transportation has decided
to end the freezing of fares
that it had inherited from the previous administration on trains and buses in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA) for lines of National Jurisdiction, thus giving the fare greater prominence in the coverage of costs necessary to operate. In this way, this measure implies a considerable decrease in subsidies that went to companies," the portfolio detailed.
