Smotrich's comments on the cuts to youth movements/Knesset channel
The Minister of Finance, Bezalel Smotrich, will arrive today on a tour of the north, during which he asked to meet with the heads of the authorities for a working meeting.
But most of the heads of the authorities will not be present at the meeting.
The meeting will be held at Benny Ben Mobacher, the head of the regional council from the Hermon suburbs, when most of the heads of the authorities are not expected to attend, this against the background of Smotrich's disapproval of promoting the northern rehabilitation plan which was budgeted for NIS 3.5 billion.
The promotion of the plan is delayed despite Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's promise to the authorities that it will be submitted for government approval at the end of January.
"When the Minister of Finance approves the transfer of the money, we will be happy to sit down with him for work meetings. At the moment it makes no sense," said one of them.

In January, there was a meeting of the heads of the authorities on the northern conflict line with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, where he promised that he would transfer three billion shekels to deal with the northern settlements within ten days.
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich was also present at the meeting, as well as Transportation Minister Miri Regev, Interior Minister Moshe Arbel, Education Minister Yoav Kish, Housing Minister Yitzhak Goldknopf, and Deputy Agriculture Minister Moshe Abutbul.
The meeting took place after a postponement of about two months due to security incidents and disputes with the meeting place, when the heads of the authorities insisted on meeting within their jurisdiction, while the Prime Minister's staff preferred distant places such as the Jezreel Valley.

Yesterday the business owners in the north suffered another blow when it turned out that the tax authority decided to exclude some of the localities in the north from the right to receive compensation in January and February under the green route, which allows for faster and simpler submission, and only the red route, which is more complex and bureaucratic, remains open for them.
The business owners in the north are in a very difficult time - the north is being bombarded by Hezbollah, many settlements have been evacuated and others have not been officially evacuated but the activity in them has stopped.
The credit expenditure figures also consistently show that the North is not recovering from the economic blow that was inflicted on it, with this region being left behind.
