As is often the case during school holidays, many trips will be disrupted due to an SNCF strike.
The railway company is in fact affected by an angry movement from controllers between Thursday evening and Monday morning, with significant disruptions expected.
SUD Rail expects “between 70 and 90%” of strikers for this weekend of crossover school holidays for zone C and at the start of the vacation for zone A. “Not all the trains are going to leave,” said SUD Rail. SNCF Voyageurs CEO Christophe Fanichet has already assured, but “the objective is to ensure one in two TGVs”, he told franceinfo, promising to “make as many trains leave as possible in the snow” .

Travelers informed two days before their departure
In all cases, travelers will be informed by SMS as well as by email whether or not their train will continue "two days before" their departure, promised SNCF CEO Jean-Pierre Farandou.
A special reimbursement system has been put in place for this strike, according to a press release published this Wednesday.
Travelers whose trains are canceled due to lack of on-board staff will either benefit from a free exchange on all TGVs where there is space until Monday February 19 (and there are still around 300,000 tickets for sale on the TGV circulating);
or a 100% refund of the ticket price, if the customer cancels their trip planned between Friday February 16 and Monday February 19 inclusive.
“For these, an additional exceptional measure is applied: SNCF Voyageurs offers a reduction on the next trip by TGV or INTERCITÉS.
These customers will automatically receive, within one month, a code giving entitlement to 50% off a future trip, provided they book it within 30 days.
No additional steps are required,” specifies the carrier.

During the strike in December 2022, 200,000 travelers deprived of their train during the Christmas holidays received 200% compensation.
A new “exceptional compensation” is planned, according to the SNCF, which should specify the terms this Wednesday afternoon during a press briefing on traffic forecasts.
