Highlights: French Stellantis employees will receive a bonus of 4,100 to 6,000 euros. 6.6 billion euros will be redistributed to shareholders for 2023 in the form of dividends and share buybacks. The proposed dividend is 1.55 euros per ordinary share, an increase of approximately 16% compared to the previous financial year. A few weeks ago, the Italian Prime Minister, Georgia Meloni, criticized the management of the Stllantis group for favoring France over Italy for its industrial production.

The automobile group, born from the merger between PSA and Fiat Chrysler, will allocate 1.9 billion euros to salary redistribution, intended for its 242,000 employees around the world.

Stellantis achieved record profits in 2023, and announced this Thursday that it is sharing them with its employees.

“They are the ones who make the company successful,”

summarized Xavier Chéreau, the HR director of the automobile group, which has 242,000 employees worldwide, at a press conference.

Sharing value is an essential lever of strategy.”

In total, 1.9 billion euros are

“redistributed”

in the form of participation, profit-sharing, bonuses linked to individual and collective performance, and also thanks to employee shareholding.

Over three years, Stellantis will have allocated 6 billion euros to this sharing.

The amount of bonuses in France, combining profit-sharing and participation, varies between a minimum of 4,100 euros and a maximum of 6,000 euros.

According to the human resources department, the employment level in France is stable with 45,000 employees.

But profiles evolve.

“The training challenges are important with the need for new talents in software and in professions linked to electrification

,” summarized Xavier Chéreau.

The number of temporary workers, on the other hand, has been reduced to 5,000 positions, rather lower than the 6,000 to 7,000 usually in France, specifies the HR department.

6.6 billion euros redistributed to shareholders

Asked about the evolution of the Stellantis workforce in France compared to Italy, Xavier Chéreau observes that it is approximately equivalent.

“The level of activity is stable in the two countries where the number of employees is similar.

Productivity is normal there.

There is no desire to protect this or that country.

Only performance protects.

These are the performance indicators which allow the allocation of products and capacities

,” specifies the HR director.

A few weeks ago, the Italian Prime Minister, Georgia Meloni, criticized the management of the Stellantis group for favoring France over Italy for its industrial production.

The group gave details of its redistribution policy to shareholders, including employees who participated in the shareholder plan launched last year in France and Italy.

In total, 6.6 billion euros will be redistributed to shareholders for 2023 in the form of dividends and share buybacks, which represents an increase of 53% compared to the 4.3 billion euros returned in 2022. The proposed dividend is 1.55 euros per ordinary share, an increase of approximately 16% compared to the previous financial year.
