The consumer price index remained unchanged in January, according to the announcement of the Central Bureau of Statistics.
Inflation dropped to an annual rate of 2.6%.
Notable price increases were recorded in health items by 0.6% and food and housing items that increased by 0.2%, each.
Notable price decreases were recorded in clothing and footwear and culture and entertainment items which decreased by 1.0% each, vegetables and fruits by 0.5% and transportation by 0.4%.
In the monthly rent, for the tenants who renewed a contract, an increase of 2.7% was recorded and for the new tenants (apartments in the sample where there was a change of tenant) an increase of 3.2% was recorded.
The input price index in residential construction rose in January 2024 by 0.3% and reached 130.2 points compared to 129.8 points in the previous month (base: July 2011 = 100.0 points).
The price index of materials and products increased in January 2024 by 0.5%, when among the materials and products the prices of stairs (by 5.3%), marble (by 4.9%), industrial partitions (by 3.1%), iron for construction (by 2.3 %) and wood for construction (at 1.7%).
In contrast, the prices of cement (by 3.7%), iron nets (by 1.9%) and various materials and products (by 1.3%) decreased.
