The Provincial Collection Agency (ARBA) began to notify almost
30 thousand
taxpayers
,
owners of sports boats
who
together
owe more than
$10,000 million
of the provincial tax that taxes these assets.
After an inspection operation carried out this weekend at the Regatas club in Ensenada, the agency
retained two boats
that registered more than $2.5 million in debt for the Sports Boat Tax.
As officially detailed, there are
29,530 taxpayers who own 30,926 sports boats
that are under scrutiny.
“Recovering debt from the richest sectors is essential.
And the debt that we at ARBA claim from the owners of sports boats exceeds $10,000 million.
That is why it is more important than ever to reinforce this type of actions,” reported
Cristian Girard
, director of the Provincial collection agency.
In a political key, Axel Kicillof's official compared this volume of tax debt with the payment of the
teaching incentive
that the governor of Buenos Aires decided to pay despite the cut in funds from Javier Milei's government, an amount that amounts, according to the official, to $8.5 billion.
In relation to the vessel retention and seizure operations, Girard was forceful: “We are going to be really
intransigent with these sectors
.
Enough of speculation and advantages for those who have more. "He stressed that" it is the first time in history "that the collecting entity kidnaps sports boats.
"In some cases, they are yachts that have a
market valuation of $30 million
or more. In other words, there are people with assets of thousands of dollars floating in the water and they don't pay taxes - he insisted -. Well, we are going to kidnap them the boat. Because there are people who have a car, an apartment, and their taxes are up to date. And other people who, having economic capacity, speculate on not paying their taxes until we go to look for them," Girard warned.
In the town of Ensenada, ARBA carried out an inspection to detect sports boats with tax debt.
The official ruled out that the operations are "a capricious persecution" and stressed that the aim is for those with greater economic capacity "to comply with the rules, just like the rest of the taxpayers," as he said.
During recent weeks, the Collection Agency intensified its
inspection of the nautical sector
and luxury constructions that exist "undeclared."
The head of ARBA has been emboldened in his advance to detect debtors, after achieving authorization for his organization of the possibility of retaining yachts, boats and jet skis that were detected evading the Sports or Recreation Tax.
Procedures, fines and withholdings
The collecting agency reported that
more than 45,000 square meters built without declaring were detected in the
Nordelta area, Tigre district .
There, two yachts
owing more than $1.5 million
were seized .
Similar actions in moorings and nautical nurseries in
San Fernando
allowed, after the retention procedure,
to regularize the situation of eight luxury yachts
, whose owners owed a total of $15 million in tribute to Sports Boats.
Two boats were seized at the Ensenada Regatas Club.

On the Atlantic Coast there were similar inspections.
In Pinamar, through satellite images, more than 70,000 square meters of undeclared construction were detected, corresponding to 215 luxury houses and 17 high-rise buildings.
Now, said developers and owners who evaded the Real Estate Tax, by having their buildings declared vacant, must face fines of up to $25 million.
The same thing happened in
Mar del Plata
.
There, ARBA teams found more than 120,000 undeclared square meters, belonging to 57 high-rise buildings and more than 200 houses in gated communities.
The organization warned that this type of controls to reduce evasion and recover debt in sectors with greater contributory capacity will advance to countries, closed neighborhoods, moorings, clubs and nautical nurseries in different parts of the Buenos Aires territory.
