The total real estate loans granted by banks had never been so low since 2015. Last year, the production of housing loans (excluding renegotiations) fell to 129 billion euros, according to the Bank of France.
This is certainly much less than in 2021 (a record of 225 billion loans was granted), a time when it was possible to borrow at 1% over twenty-five years.
But it is a level even higher than the first half of the 2010 decade.
