To become annuitants, the French often think about real estate, which they see as a safe haven.
This is the case of Jacques, then a management controller, and his brother, a mason, who bought a small building made up of four apartments in Quimper, in Brittany, in 2017, and planned to buy 10 for the to rent out.
“We wanted to stop working afterwards.
With one building in Brittany, we managed to generate a minimum wage to be shared between two people, so with ten buildings we would have had ten minimum wage
,” confides Jacques.
His brother had to take care of the rental management and he of the financial aspect.
But they ultimately did not complete their project, and sold their property after only 4 years.
“This first building vaccinated us
