In his crusade for zero deficit, President
Javier Milei
announced that he will send a bill to the
National Congress
to penalize officials of the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA) who agree to issue pesos to finance the fiscal deficit of the government of shift.
"The project will define
seigniorage as a criminal offense
and in the event that the BCRA finances the treasury, either directly or indirectly, the president of the BCRA, the board of directors, the president of the Nation would end up in jail.
