The government recorded this Thursday in a decree savings of ten billion euros, announced after a downward revision of the 2024 growth forecast, with in particular two billion euros less for the “sustainable ecology, development and mobility” programs. ".
The text, published in the Official Journal and signed by Prime Minister Gabriel Attal, the Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire and the Minister for Public Accounts Thomas Cazenave, “cancels” a total of ten billion euros of budgeted expenditure in 29 areas, ranging from ecology to higher education, including justice, defense, territorial cohesion and public development assistance.

These ten billion euros of savings were announced Sunday evening by Bruno le Maire on TF 1. Questioned on France 2 this Thursday morning, the Minister of Ecological Transition Christophe Béchu explained that in 2024, the budget of his ministry was to experience “10 billion increases”: “Instead of 10 billion, the increase will only be 8 billion, because we must take into account a deteriorating economic situation,” he said.
The MaPrimeRénov' system, which makes it possible to finance energy renovation work, should for its part increase this year by one billion, compared to two initially planned.
