In Bruz (Ille-et-Vilaine), three Greenpeace activists arriving in a van demolished the logo of the agri-food giant Avril, located on the side of the road.
After deploying two ladders, they unscrewed the logo plates to replace it with a banner
“Avril se gorge = exploited farmers”

The president of the FNSEA Arnaud Rousseau is also president of the board of directors of Avril.
“We are facing the Avril group which is one of the proponents of this agro-industrial system which impoverishes farmers,”
Ariane Malleret, Greenpeace France agriculture campaigner, told the press.
“Today we are asking the government to set a clear course on the ecological transition, for that we must tackle head-on the question of inequalities, of income which is expressed by this anger of the agricultural world

In Sablé-sur-Sarthe, activists dismantled the logo on the roof of the LDC group, which markets the Loué, Le Gaulois and Maître Coq brands, before loading it into a truck and putting up a banner reading

LDC declines to comment
The LDC group, which has

“We are losing more and more farms in France today while the profits of groups like LDC, like Avril, continue to increase.

“LDC clearly has its part in this erosion since it now holds nearly 40% of the broiler poultry market share in France today
,” he added.
Greenpeace organized six actions simultaneously this morning, five against large groups, notably Bayer in Toury (Eure-et-Loir) and Lactalis in Lisieux (Calvados) and one against the Parisian headquarters of the agricultural union FNSEA, before the opening of the Salon de agriculture.

The Avril group, a French giant in vegetable oils and proteins, achieved a turnover of 9 billion euros in 2022.
The LDC group, number 1 in poultry in France, achieved a turnover of 5.8 billion euros in 2022.
