Finally, large French companies resisted a disrupted environment well last year.
As the results season draws to a close, the 2023 vintage looks good.
Despite the slowdown in European growth, the persistent sluggishness of China and the geopolitical crises, the majority of the French flagships have generated profits close to, or even higher than, those of 2022, which are already very good.
Several of them have even broken records: led by TotalEnergies (19.8 billion euros) and Stellantis (18.6 billion euros), but also LVMH (15.2 billion euros), Hermès ( 4.3 billion euros), BNP Paribas (11 billion euros), Schneider Electric (4 billion euros), Air Liquide (3.07 billion euros) or Capgemini (1.7 billion euros ).
“The twenty-eight CAC 40 groups that have already published their results saw their profits increase by 11% on average last year
,” underlines Bénédicte Hautefort, co-director of Scalens.
