Highlights: The boutique hotel was opened for the evacuees, the state didn't bother to pay - voila! Of money. "Nia" which is located in the seat of "Shabi Zion", does not belong to the network, so its financial stability is lower. "It is impossible to host the event without money. They promised to pay within a few days of issuing the invoice," says Shahar Fuchs, CEO of Nia. The Ministry of Tourism stated in response: "The hotel was aware of the need to correct the calculation"

The Nia hotel in Shavei Zion was opened in order to receive residents from the north who have been there for two months, but the Ministry of Tourism does not pay and did not even send an advance: "cannot pay salaries"

After the Isrotel hotel chain in Eilat, and the Carmel Forest Hotel in the north, informed the evacuees that at the end of the month they would be forced to leave, the "Nia" hotel in Shavei Zion also informed the residents of the Meta Asher regional council, which they host, that they would not be able to continue staying there.

While Bishrotel asked to return to the work routine for Passover, when they could not afford to wait for the government to vote on extending the stay of the evacuees in the hotels, in Nia the reason is completely different: the state still has not paid anything for the accommodation until this very moment.

Like most of the country's tourism businesses, the "Nia" hotel was also closed at the beginning of the war.

After an appeal by Moshe Davidovich, head of the Asher headquarters council, the hotel management signed an agreement with the Ministry of Tourism and at the beginning of January it started accepting evacuees from the council who were housed in 68 rooms.

"Nia" which is located in the seat of "Shabi Zion", does not belong to the network, so its financial stability is lower.

It is considered a luxury spa hotel, with designed rooms, boutique rooms and villas with a pool.

"According to the agreement with the state, we were supposed to receive advances and we didn't receive anything," says Shahar Fuchs, CEO of Nia. "We are supposed to submit invoices twice a month, on the first and the 15th of the month.

No one told us how to do it technically, but we managed.

In terms of price, we deserve more, because I don't have cash flow, but we aligned with the rate that the state set, NIS 470 plus VAT per person per day

.

No money comes in and no one talks to us.

The 15th arrived and it is not possible to submit an invoice, because the previous one was not paid, and I cannot host the event without money.

They promised to pay within a few days of issuing the invoice, so we did not receive an advance or payment.

Most of our rooms are full and the rest are supposed to be occupied by the evacuees who left the Carmel Forests, and I have 40 employees.

"What's mind-boggling is that the right hand there doesn't know the left. Someone senior at the Ministry of Tourism referred me to the accountant who works with them, and she claimed she doesn't take care of us. We've been in email correspondence ever since. A few days ago, I finally managed to get hold of her and she explained that she was asked to do Do us a favor and teach us about Excel. I don't need to be taught Excel, but to be paid."

If all this is not enough for Fox, he is also in the reserves, running the hotel in the short breaks he has.

"My level of anxiety and nerves is unbearable. For last month I paid salaries to employees, and I postponed payments to suppliers and this month I will no longer be able to pay salaries either, because I have no money. I have no choice but to close the hotel. I think about the evacuees who will have to leave and my heart hurts."

The Ministry of Tourism stated in response: "The hotel was made aware of the need to correct the calculation that was submitted to the ministry. When the correction is received, the payment will be transferred immediately."

The Nia Hotel clarifies that they were not told about any error in the invoice and were not asked to generate a new invoice.
