Two people, arrested on Saturday during the incidents at the Agricultural Show and placed in police custody, will be judged later by the criminal court, the Paris prosecutor's office said on Monday requested by AFP.

These two people were arrested on Saturday in connection with the incidents which broke out during the visit of Emmanuel Macron.

At the end of their custody, they were presented to the public prosecutor's office who gave them a summons to appear before the criminal court.

One will be judged for

“death threats against an elected official”

and the second for

“violence against a person holding public authority and rebellion”

.

“Due to (their) lack of criminal record, the judge of freedoms and detention did not consider it necessary to order a judicial review”

for the two people, said the prosecution.

The trial, the date of which was not communicated by the prosecution, must take place in the coming months.

Eight members of the security forces were injured

In total, six people were arrested, including two placed in police custody.

During a press briefing on Saturday, police prefect Laurent Nuñez estimated between

"300 and 400"

the number of the most vindictive demonstrators who came in the morning to disrupt Emmanuel Macron's visit against the backdrop of the agricultural protest movement.

Shortly after 8:00 a.m., before the official opening, farmers from the National Federation of Farmers' Unions (FNSEA), Young Farmers (JA) and Rural Coordination forced the entrance gates to the exhibition center of the Porte de Versailles.

For several hours, intermittently, farmers violently pushed the police who themselves pushed them back sharply, in the middle of panicking animals.

Eight members of the police were injured, including

“two more seriously”

, indicated the police prefect.
