If, on the shelves, at the end of February, certain labels show a reduction, the difference is only a few cents.
This is what the price evolution of the shopping basket that Le Parisien - Today in France put together in January reveals.
Inside, twenty consumer products from some of the most sold brands, such as the Cristaline pack, the best-seller (in value), or the essential 1 kg pot of Nutella, best seller excluding liquids, according to the NielsenIQ Institute.
Result: in six weeks, the amount of our basket increased from 78.05 euros to 77.89 euros.
That is, in two years, a surge of 20.24% – it was at 64.78 euros in January 2022.
To arrive at such a sum, we relied on data provided by the interactive drive map of the consumer association UFC-Que Choisir, which records the prices of references sold in the stores of the different groups every day.
