A group of accommodation apartment and hotel owners is threatening to issue an eviction notice to the approximately 5,000 residents of the north who are currently scattered among various state-funded accommodation apartments.

The Ministry of Tourism claims that due to false reports that resulted in an excess payment of millions of shekels, payment to various accommodation companies whose eligibility is now being checked has been frozen.



The owners of the accommodation apartments, who united as a group, are threatening to issue an eviction letter to about 5,000 residents from the north who are now in different apartments and rooms.



The language of the letter that will be sent, if the state refuses to pay them: "It is with a heavy heart and great pain that we are forced to write you this letter. We will have no choice but to ask approximately 5,000 evacuated citizens, including you, to leave our accommodation facilities - immediately.



"This decision came as a result of a measure One-sided and surprising of the Ministry of Tourism which delays payments, drags its feet and behaves irresponsibly, to a large group of hosts.



"We did everything in our power not to reach this situation, but under these circumstances we were left without the financial ability to meet our obligations to suppliers, employees, team members and many parties. We took loans, we asked for help from everyone possible, but we are unable to continue.



"We know that you have not yet received an answer either Regarding your stay in hotels or apartments, it is a scandal to wait until the 90th minute when it comes to decisions that affect hundreds of thousands of people in the country, both in terms of accommodation, schools and housing.

We still very much hope that the relevant officials in the government offices will come to their senses at the last minute, correct this injustice and find an agreed solution that will allow us to continue hosting you.

"The ministry froze the payment to these companies and at the same time extended the contract with them for another month (until the end of March) when the payment will be made at a rate according to the findings at the end of the inquiry.



"It should be noted that there is no shortage of rooms or accommodation apartments and a solution will be found for each evacuee.

To the extent that evacuation notices have been received, we call on the evacuees to contact the office manager and get an alternative."
