The sellers who are dismantling the "joint" in order to pay the bills do not hide their disappointment.
For the first time this year,
the blue dollar is about to break the $1,000 floor.
In most of the caves in the city of Buenos Aires the ruling price is $1,030 for those who are going to buy (20 pesos below yesterday's closing) and $1,000 for those who are going to sell.
But given the excess supply, motivated by Argentines who, as President Javier Milei expressed days ago, go out to sell dollars to meet their expenses,
some trees offer to buy the "big face" green ones for $990
.
The last time the informal traded below $1,000 was at the end of last year.
On December 26 it closed at $985.
But from that day to today, accumulated inflation fluctuates around 35%, which shows that in real terms the
current price of blue is lower than what it was two months ago.
