Cartons of cigarettes, obviously.

But also wine or toys... Customs services make strange discoveries in car trunks, truck loads or boat containers.

In February 2023, a team came across a batch of 6,664 bottles of wine whose labels falsely made people believe they were great wines.

Investigators trace the chain and discover 47,200 additional bottles, as well as entire boxes of labels.

Total value: 3 million euros.

The set was intended for a major New York merchant.

Three months later, at the end of May, the BSI (internal surveillance brigade) of Menton (Alpes-Maritimes) checked a refrigerated truck on the A8 motorway.

Surprise !

Inside, the police discovered 345,000 counterfeit items.

Caps, smoking papers, packaging of toys and figurines.

A real grocery store on four wheels!

A month later, on information from Marseille customs, members of the Reunion customs office got their hands on 642,000 food products, sachets of powder and other bottles of soda, hidden in a container coming from China and to Madagascar.
