For several days, the CAC 40 has been flirting with the mythical bar of 8,000 points.
A major performance for the Parisian index, which brings together the 40 best French stocks, in the wake of euphoric American markets.
But why are the world stock markets celebrating so much?
“Investors' appetite for equities from last October is due to the fact that the market anticipated at least six rate cuts in 2024 by the FED, the American Federal Reserve, and the European Central Bank,” explains Alexandre Baradez, responsible for market analysis at IG France.
Today, they only anticipate three more but paradoxically, there is no consolidation or market correction.

Other factors contribute to investors' optimism: the good performance of the American economy, the season of corporate results in line with or even above expectations.
Or the dynamism and power of technological stocks.
“Today, the magnificent seven
(Google, Amazon, Facebook, Apple, Microsoft, Tesla and
Nvidia
)
are in an oligopolistic situation,” explains Christopher Dembik, investment strategy advisor at the asset management company Pictet AM.
