Arnon Shapira, Unilever Israel's VP of Sales, will be appointed as the company's CEO starting May 1, 2024. Shapira joined Unilever in 2004 as part of the company's management reserve program, and since then has held a series of diverse positions in marketing and sales, in Israel and at the company's headquarters in Europe .



In these positions he gained rich experience in managing and leading people, in leading complex change processes, and in building a business, commercial and marketing strategy, including product innovation and advertising.

In his last position as VP of Sales, he played a central role in promoting the company's business activities and led processes of strengthening the relationship with customers and partners and accelerating the digital transformation in the organization.



Shafira holds a BA in economics and an LLB (law) degree, both from Tel Aviv University. He is a graduate of Argon's senior leadership program Maoz, and the executive program of the Harvard Business School.


Shapira will replace Jem Yoxel, who served as the company's CEO for the past four years and will report to him.

Yoxel will be promoted to an expanded role in Unilever's global regional management and will continue to support Israel and other countries.



Unilever Israel employs approximately 2,000 female and male employees in four factories in Arad, Safed, Acre and Haifa, and at the company's headquarters in Lod.

It manufactures about 85% of its products in Israel and its prominent brands in the food, ice cream and toiletries fields include Thelma, Click, Pinook, Bedin, Dove, Axe, Helman's, Knorr, Strauss and Magnum ice creams.
