“Women’s networks are created when there is a glass ceiling in a sector or profession.
In other words, when they are blocked from accessing positions of responsibility,” immediately warns Emmanuelle Gagliardi, president of CONNECTING WoMEN Agency and co-author with Carole Michelon of “500 women’s networks to boost your career” (Eyrolles).
Obviously, the phenomenon which exploded in the 2000s does not seem to be calming down.
In 2007, this networking expert identified 200 women's networks.
Some 500 in 2018. And probably not far from 650 today.
But what makes women network with each other?
“First of all, these are sharing spaces where they discover that they are not the only ones to struggle in their career, to be tired of doing everything at the same time... Sharing the same experience and exchanging concrete advice gives them reinsurance.
It’s crucial,” argues this expert.
