Upon learning of the death of his brother Jeffrey Epstein in prison on August 10, 2019, Mark first thought: “OK, he has decided to leave, I respect his decision”.
The billionaire had in fact been incarcerated since July 6, 2019 for trafficking in minors and sexual crimes.
But after his death, Mark Epstein began to ask himself questions, as he revealed in the latest issue of
Paris Match
, published on Thursday March 7.
And the theory of suicide, established as the official cause of Jeffrey Epstein's death by department head Barbara Sampson, does not convince him.

At the time, Kristin Roman, the prison's medical examiner, refused to comment on the causes of death.
“She wrote “awaiting further analyses,” explains Mark Epstein to
Paris Match
.
My representative, Dr. Baden (
an expert appointed by him, who attended the autopsy, editor's note
), is then convinced that the marks and fractures that he saw on my brother's body come from a murder by strangulation.
The forensic pathologist agrees with him.”
“I am not his heir”
For Mark Epstein, the businessman, accused of multiple sexual assaults and trafficking of minors, was therefore murdered in his cell.
“I am not his heir, I have no other interest than the search for truth,” he explains.
I would have preferred that the autopsy confirmed without a shadow of a doubt the hypothesis of suicide.
It would have made my life easier.”

For this lonely brother, Jeffrey was eliminated “by a killer placed in a neighboring cell”.
He claims to have asked the Department of Justice for a list of the fourteen detainees locked up in this area - without success.
Today he would like the investigation to be “relaunched”.
“We called him “Bear””
In the interview given to
Paris Match
, he also talks about their childhood in Coney Island.
“We were only eighteen months apart,” he emphasizes.
Jeffrey was born in 1953, me in 1954. Our family was very close-knit, and we both had a happy childhood.”
He also recounts the possible complexes that his brother must have inherited from those years.
“In the neighborhood, everyone took Jeffrey for a 'nerd', a detective,” a former neighbor told
Paris Match
.
At school he excelled in math and physics.
It was easy to bully him, because he was bad at gym and didn't know how to dress.
As he was chubby and much hairier than boys his age, we called him “Bear” (

High school student Jeffrey Epstein also reportedly suffered from a one-sided love for a “preppy blonde straight out of a Connecticut country club.”
A young girl he allegedly pursued until she left a cinema where she was going “with her
boyfriend
at the time”.
The latter would have “brutally rebuffed” him.
Mark Epstein confides that at the time, his brother “had a hard time” being born in a modest neighborhood, a dream in fact.
The last time he spoke to her on the phone was July 5, 2019, the day before his arrest.
