“We are reducing spending, not investments,”

adds the minister, referring to the major investment plan dedicated to innovation launched two years ago to support the reindustrialization of the country and its decarbonization via emerging technologies and research. .

These declarations follow the announcements of cuts of some 10 billion euros in state spending in 2024, followed by a further tightening of the screws of an additional 20 billion in 2025. France 2030 focuses on ten objectives, in the areas of transport (production of electric cars, low-carbon aircraft), energy (support for the installation of electrolysers, essential for producing low-carbon hydrogen, development of small modular nuclear reactors), space, agriculture, electronic components or health (creation of biomedicines).

Since its launch at the end of 2021, half of the 54 billion euros in credits planned for this plan have already been committed, according to the Elysée.

They benefited 3,000 projects carried out by 3,500 companies, half of them SMEs, and research centers.

It made it possible to secure the production in France of one million electric cars out of the two million targeted by France 2030, to develop eight biomedicines out of the 20 ambitioned in the plan, or even to bring about 12 small space rocket projects.

Roland Lescure also specifies that for three years,

“nearly a billion euros”

have been spent to support the relocation of the production of critical drugs to deal with worsening shortages in pharmacies.

“In Occitanie, the very first boxes of medicines against melanoma will be released in the coming months.

In the Var, a drug against pancreatic cancer has been relocated

,” he explains.

The manufacturing of curare and amoxicillin is also being relocated, according to the minister who confirms the project to create a European medicines alliance to be announced on April 24, based on the model of that of batteries.
