Families with incomes of more than $790,000 per month will lose energy subsidies in the winter

The figure corresponds to the consumption limit of a "cohabiting group" of
between 3 and 4 people in the "Temple (3)" bioenvironmental region, where the bulk of the Argentine population lives -City and Greater Buenos Aires, La Plata and Rosario
, among other localities -, according to the calculations of the unions grouped in the
Argentine Confederation of Workers and Employees of Hydrocarbons, Energy, Fuels, Derivatives and Related Products (CATHEDA)
.
The entity sought to value the
Basic Energy Basket (CBE)
that the Government will use to define criteria for
reasonable demand for electricity and natural gas
through the network, as well as the necessary income and property issues or recent history of quality of life and consumption, before determine who needs help from the State.
Basically,
any user who allocates less than 10% of their income would not be subsidized
, but there may be exceptions depending on the population decile to which they correspond.
In the event that more than 10% is spent (or the percentage depending on the decile), the State will make the difference.
Basic Energy Basket for a household of 3 to 4 people in the Temperate region, which includes AMBA, La Plata and Rosario, among other locations.
In the coming weeks, the
Ministry of Energy will finish adjusting the new scheme that will replace rate segmentation, and will implement it in May

Based on current electricity and gas prices, CATHEDA economists found that
those households that are in the "Cálida (2)" region - all of Tucumán and areas of Jujuy, Salta, Catamarca, La Rioja, San Juan, San Luis, Córdoba, Santiago del Estero, Santa Fe, Corrientes and Entre Ríos - would stop having subsidies when they exceed $160,000 in summer (at least)

Meanwhile,
the families of the "Very cold (6)" region, which covers all of Tierra del Fuego and areas of Santa Cruz, Chubut, Río Negro, Neuquén, Mendoza, San Juan, La Rioja, Catamarca, Salta and Jujuy - In the mountainous part, the income limit above which there will be no subsidies is a maximum of $2,876,000 per month

In between there are great variations, depending on the region, the month and the number of cohabitants.
For the most populated region of the country, the Government estimated that the average gas consumption is 71 m3 per month if a household has between 3 and 4 members, with a minimum of 36 m3 and a maximum of 142 m3, while for electricity The average is 165 kWh per month, with a minimum of 157 kWh and a maximum of 188 kWh.
That's what's considered "reasonable," based on weather conditions.
If the income of that "cohabiting group" exceeds $319,720 in December (less than two minimum pensions and the bonus, which at today's value total $410,000) the subsidies would not apply to them, since the CBE would cost about $31,972.
That is the month where the Basket would be cheapest;
At the other extreme, July would be the month with the highest consumption and where the CBE would be most expensive, for about $78,998.
On that occasion, the income limit to receive state aid would be $789,980.
It is worth clarifying that the amounts will be updated due to the evolution of inflation and salaries, as well as that they will be conditional on users not having purchased
dollars
or any other foreign currency in the last 3 months;
that they have not made
trips abroad
if they are non-neighboring countries in the last 5 years;
that they do not use
prepaid payments
not linked to their jobs in a dependency relationship;
and that they do not have a
car or motorcycle less than 5 years old
, among multiple exclusion criteria.
