The weeks pass and the setbacks pile up for Boeing.
New episode at the beginning of March in Portland.
A Boeing 737 Max 8 arriving from Mexico lands on March 1 on a runway at the Oregon airport.
So far nothing unusual.
But as the aircraft stops, the ground team realizes that the door to the hold that accommodates the animals is open, as revealed by the American television channel Koin.
“There was no indication to the crew that the door was unsealed during the flight and all indications are that the door partially opened after landing,”
Alaska Airlines said in a statement.
Our maintenance teams inspected the aircraft, replaced a spring in the door, tested the door and returned it to service.”
In its press release, the company adds that no missing or injured animals have been reported.
A door torn off, a broken landing gear
For several months, Boeing has been going through a zone of turbulence.
At the beginning of January, a cap holder on a Boeing 737 MAX 9, from the same company, Alaska Airlines, detached from the cabin a few minutes after takeoff.
This Friday again, a United Airlines Boeing 737 MAX saw its landing gear break shortly after landing on the tarmac at the Houston airport in Texas, causing it to end its journey outside of the track.
No one was hurt.
