The 2024 tax calendar is becoming clearer.
According to information from the specialized site Tout sur mes finances that the General Directorate of Public Finances has confirmed to us, the deadlines for validating your online income tax return will range between the end of May and the beginning of June depending on your place of residence.
In detail, taxpayers from departments 1 (Ain) to 19 (Corrèze) or abroad will have until May 23 at midnight to complete this formality.
Those from departments 20 (Corse-du-Sud and Haute-Corse) to 54 (Meurthe-et-Moselle) will benefit from an additional week until May 30.
Finally, the inhabitants of departments 55 (Meuse) to 976 (Mayotte) will be the most varnished since they will be able to satisfy this obligation until June 6.
This spread is designed to avoid congestion on the impots.gouv.fr platform, with many taxpayers waiting until the last day to make their declaration.
Although we now know the end of the story, the tax authorities are not yet providing a date for the launch of the declaration campaign.
“The rest of the schedule will be specified later,” we are told at the DGFiP.
However, each area traditionally has six weeks, for the less fortunate, to eight weeks, for the better off, to complete its income tax return.
The opening of the service should therefore probably take place around Thursday April 11.
The revised scale of 4.8%
Furthermore, for taxpayers who still use the paper declaration via form 2042, the declaration date is set for Monday May 20 at the latest, according to the Tout sur mes finances website, regardless of the department of residence.
Information not confirmed by the DGFiP.
The 2024 declaration campaign will be notably marked by the revaluation of the income tax scale of 4.8%.
Concretely, this means that if your income increased by less than 4.8% in 2023, you will ultimately pay less tax.
