If the bill was adopted by a large majority in the Sustainable Development Committee on March 7, it could give rise to much more lively debates in the National Assembly.
In the viewfinder of the text examined this Thursday by the deputies, the model of “ultra-fast fashion”: these platforms which put several thousand new models of clothing on sale at very low prices every day, like from Shein.
The objective: to reduce the environmental impact of this highly polluting industry.
The bill provides for several measures: the introduction of a penalty on these products through an increase in their eco-contribution (an increase in their selling price paid by the consumer), as well as a bonus for virtuous companies , and a ban on advertising for the sales sites concerned.
